Maysa Matarazzo was one of the most influential and expressive singers of Brazilian popular music. She was born in SÃo Paulo in 1936 and started her musical career in 1956, recording her first album Convite Para Ouvir Maysa (Invitation to Listen to Maysa). Her distinctive voice and style, influenced by jazz, blues and samba, captivated audiences and critics alike. In 1961, she married Miguel Anzana, a Spanish music producer who helped her expand her career in Europe.
